Rising Bird

I'm introducing my new logo for Rising Bird Healing Arts, my bodywork practice-to-be starting this spring. I painted this bird years ago and have been using the image (in its full painting form) for my Reiki business. What do you think? What kinds of images or feelings does this logo conjure for you?

  1. I loves the bird, Otis! It's striking but not at all in a harsh way. But I find the circle distracting, which it shouldn't be as its symbolism is so central to what you are doing. After going back to the original painting and seeing the darker blue background, I think the problem for me is that the circle is pretty much the same color as the bird's body and they sort of cancel each other out. How about using a different color for the circle so each part is distinct, allowing each to more effectively contribute to the overall message?

  2. I liked it when I first saw it. The colors are groovy, it imprints on your memory and expressing both movement and calm at the same time.

  3. I think the problem for me is that the circle is a different shade of blue than the bird's body and they sort of contrast too much. How about making the bird bright red, with flames shooting out in all directions? Like a phoenix! A rising bird of resurrective massage! With a heap of ashes underneath its talons! Large talons! And fangs! And maybe have some trash and newspapers dramatically blowing around in the background!

mixing tang and isopure was a bad idea...
