My friend Tatyana shared this video of Elizabeth Gilbert's speech, and I want to share it with every creative person I know! Do you resonate with Gilbert's sense that our creative impulses are not held tightly inside us, but are energies/entities we encounter?

  1. I'd interpret lowcoolant's comment to mean: It's cowardly to back away from your talent and give credit to something else. Genius is a product of your own talent, your own perseverance, your own commitment. It may be a struggle to contain that talent... and it might be best for some people to ascribe it to some other source... but it's worrisome that Tom Waits started to suck about this same time.
